About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team at Rossland Grocery. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our store, ensuring excellent customer service, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Staff Management: Manage and supervise a team of retail staff, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent customer service and a positive store environment.
  • Merchandise and Services: Determine the types of merchandise and services to be sold in our store, ensuring they meet the needs and preferences of our customers.
  • Inventory Management: Locate, select, and procure merchandise for resale, ensuring that our store is well-stocked and that inventory levels are optimized.
  • Financial Management: Plan and manage budgets, monitor revenues and expenses, and make informed decisions to drive sales growth and profitability.
  • Customer Service: Resolve customer complaints and issues in a timely and professional manner, ensuring that our customers receive excellent service and support.
  • Recruitment and Training: Recruit, hire, and train new staff members, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide excellent customer service and support.
  • Store Operations: Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the daily operations of our store, ensuring that they are efficient, effective, and aligned with our business goals.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: Experience in retail management or a related field is an asset.
  • Work Setting: Our store is located in a rural area, and we are looking for someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Work Language: English is the primary language spoken in our store, and we are looking for someone who is fluent in English.
  • Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week, with flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.
