Position Overview
To support our expansion, we are currently looking for a:
National Retail Technical Consultant
Reporting to the Technical Advisor Manager, the successful candidate will provide expert technical services and insights to our partners in the National Retail sector.
This role involves inspiring clients with innovative finished products that reflect the latest global and local trends, utilizing our specialized product range while assessing customer requirements.
In collaboration with the business development teams, the consultant will maintain and expand business relationships with major National retail clients through top-tier technical support and commercial engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Create Inspiring Products: Identify customer needs and market trends, translating them into innovative products. Collaborate closely with business development teams to develop finished goods, recipes, and concepts, sharing these with customers and colleagues through various communication channels.
- Enhance Customer Experience: Conduct product demonstrations using Puratos offerings. Foster strong relationships with clients, both at Puratos Innovation Centres and at their locations. Organize and lead training sessions, and participate in or manage seminars and events alongside Sales, Marketing, and R&D teams. Provide troubleshooting support at key retail locations to assist in resolving production challenges promptly.
- Drive Business Development: Advocate for focus products in line with the Puratos Product Strategy. Support industrial manufacturers during production line launches and troubleshoot issues on industrial lines to assist our clients. Sustain existing business while identifying new opportunities and potential challenges.
- Knowledge Sharing: Assist colleagues and clients in building technical knowledge regarding Puratos products, technologies, and solutions. Stay informed about new technologies, machinery, trends, and techniques, sharing insights with fellow technical advisors.
- Contribute to Product Development: Engage early in the product development process, collaborating with Sales, R&D, and Marketing departments. Provide technical guidance on essential product characteristics for new developments.
- Maintain Innovation Centre: Collaborate with the management team to define and implement strategies for the use of the Innovation Centre. Assist in maintaining equipment, procuring supplies, and recommending new requirements as necessary.
- Build Networks: Continuously develop customer knowledge and relationships. Establish and maintain a network of educational institutions, machinery manufacturers, retailers, and professional baking organizations.
- Undertake any additional responsibilities assigned by the direct supervisor.
Candidate Profile
- Secondary education and/or training in Bakery, Patisserie, or Chocolate.
- Practical experience in the Bakery, Patisserie, or Chocolate sector, particularly in a retail context.
- Proficient in English, with strong oral and written communication skills; French is a plus.
- Customer-focused mindset.
- Competent in using professional tools (SAP CRM, O365, etc.).
- In-depth knowledge of ingredients, processes, equipment, and finished products.
- Willingness to share expertise with colleagues and clients.
- Collaborative team player with respect for others, helpfulness, and open-mindedness.
- Proven organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong consulting and sales abilities.
