Job Title: Underwriter, Commercial

We are seeking a highly skilled Underwriter, Commercial to join our team at 2299916 ALBERTA LTD. in a permanent position.

Job Summary:

The Underwriter, Commercial will be responsible for reviewing individual and group applications for insurance, evaluating new and renewal applications to determine insurance risks, insurance premiums, extent of coverage and other conditions, and ensuring compliance with government regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review individual and group applications for insurance to determine eligibility and risk level
  • Evaluate new and renewal applications to determine insurance risks, insurance premiums, extent of coverage and other conditions
  • Approve sale of insurance policies and ensure compliance with government regulations
  • Provide underwriting advice and answer inquiries from clients and other company personnel
  • Prepare underwriting reports and maintain accurate records
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in underwriting or a related field
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Work Environment:

The Underwriter, Commercial will work in a fast-paced environment with a large caseload and will be required to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
