The Role:

We are in search of a Senior Manager, Cloud and Data Centre Operations to join our IT division for a temporary engagement.

Reporting to the VP of IT Operations & Support, the Senior Manager, Cloud and Data Centre Operations will oversee the design, administration, maintenance, and documentation of all cloud-based solutions throughout the organization. In this role, you will lend your expertise to support the development and upkeep of the enterprise cloud platform. You will work closely with application owners across various operational groups, enterprise architects, software vendors, and both internal and external teams to identify requirements for cloud solutions and assist in the development of solution designs. This position also entails the design, development, and management of cloud solutions.

Daily Responsibilities:

• Engage in architecting secure cloud solutions: Design scalable cloud architectures utilizing infrastructure-as-code and robust disaster recovery practices to support business operations.
• Oversee the design, implementation, operation, maintenance, security, and ongoing support of hybrid environments in both private and public clouds.
• Cloud Migration Expertise: Strategize and execute the transition of on-premises systems to the cloud.
• Manage daily cloud support operations, including incident management, problem management, change management, crisis management, and disaster recovery across various technologies and teams to ensure high-quality and stable services.
• Provide regular governance, optimization, and compliance recommendations and audits for workloads and services operating in the cloud.
• Design, implement, and maintain technology services project management policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Lead technology projects, collaborating with multiple vendors and internal resources to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Contribute to strategic application plans and help align with application teams, security, business, and systems teams.
• Manage relationships with major cloud technology providers to enhance the business value of products and services received.
• Automate and streamline infrastructure tasks using programming languages and IaC tools.
• Drive operational excellence by enhancing monitoring, optimizing performance, implementing logging/alerting, and leading cost-saving initiatives.
• Oversee the operational environment and system availability for various technologies.
• Enhance cloud knowledge within the organization and share best practices through knowledge bases, training events, and outreach.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in cloud and on-premise environments, focusing on solution design, migration, implementation, maintenance, and security.
• Extensive experience with Azure Cloud Computing platform.
• Knowledge in the design and deployment of DevOps, Big Data, and API management platforms in a cloud setting.
• Advanced understanding of cybersecurity practices, network security protocols, and compliance requirements.
• Experience in migrating on-prem workloads to cloud environments.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure technologies.
• Understanding of cloud best practices and processes.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
• Understanding of network principles and authentication protocols.
• Fluent communication skills in English are required; bilingual skills in French are an asset.
