Job Title: Community Support Worker

We are seeking a Community Support Worker to join our team at E4C, a leading provider of supportive housing and community services.

Job Summary:

The Community Support Worker will work closely with residents, staff, and community partners to provide a range of services, including wellness planning, meal preparation, and community development. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families in our community.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with residents and staff to develop and implement individualized wellness plans.
  • Prepare and serve meals for residents, ensuring a safe and healthy food environment.
  • Facilitate community development activities, such as events and workshops, to promote social connections and community engagement.
  • Provide support and guidance to residents, staff, and community partners to promote a culture of respect, empathy, and inclusivity.
  • Administer medication and ensure compliance with medication administration policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Degree or diploma in a related field, such as human services, education, or administration.
  • Police Check with Vulnerable Sector and Child Intervention Record Check.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Medication Administration certification.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License and proof of vehicle insurance, registration, and 3-year driver abstract.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Mental Health First Aid certification.
  • De-escalation Certificate.
  • Trauma-Informed certification.
  • Harm Reduction Training.
  • Cultural Awareness certification.
  • Motivational Interviewing certification.
Experience:
  • 3+ years of related direct service work experience working with diverse communities with varying and complex priorities and needs.
  • Proven ability to foster a team environment and provide reflective supervision to team members.
  • Personal lived experience of addictions, mental illness, racism, discrimination, and poverty is an asset.
  • Experience working in collaborative partnerships.
  • Working knowledge and experience with harm reduction, person-centered, trauma-informed, behavior modification, natural law, strength-based, collaborative, and/or solution-focused practice.
