Old Toronto, Ontario, Canada Lightmatter Full time

About Lightmatter: Lightmatter is at the forefront of photonic computing, revolutionizing the capabilities of computers and humanity alike. By harnessing the power of photons instead of electrons, we are addressing the limitations of traditional transistors and the environmental challenges posed by conventional data centers. Our innovative chips are designed for artificial intelligence applications, leveraging the unique properties of light for superior performance.

Role Overview: As a Senior Design Verification Engineer, you will play a pivotal role within a vibrant, multidisciplinary team. Your primary focus will be on collaborating with digital design specialists, employing UVM testbench methodologies to ensure the accuracy and reliability of their designs. This position will require you to work closely with both photonic and analog design engineers, gaining insights into their cutting-edge designs while applying Real Number Modeling (RNM) and AMS verification techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively with teams in digital, photonics, and analog design to formulate comprehensive test strategies.
  • Design and execute UVM testbenches for both subsystem-level and full-chip verification, including debugging, issue resolution, and achieving high coverage for final Design Verification (DV) sign-off.
  • Create Real Number Models (RNM) for photonic and analog circuits, conduct AMS verification alongside UVM, and ensure accurate model representation. Significantly contribute to the development of the Golden Reference Model (GRM) for design verification, and play a crucial role in emulation and formal verification efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in design verification and SystemVerilog.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Python programming.
  • Proficiency in utilizing the UVM library.
  • Familiarity with simulators such as Xcelium, ModelSim, Questa, or VCS.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with AMS verification and formal verification methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills, effective communication abilities, and a collaborative spirit.

Benefits:

  • Comprehensive Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision).
  • Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D).
  • Generous Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays).
  • Paid Family Leave.
  • Short Term & Long Term Disability.
  • Training & Development opportunities.
  • Flexible, hybrid workplace model.
  • Stock Option Plan.

Lightmatter is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace, ensuring equal opportunity for all individuals regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, sex, disability, age, veteran status, or any other protected status as required by applicable law.
