Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Material Handler I to join our team. As a Material Handler I, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of customer products within our facilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Movement and Storage

Transfer products from unprocessed storage areas to processing areas, load and unload processed products, and conduct pre-shipping preparation and staging.

2. Equipment Maintenance and Repair

Monitor equipment used for product movement and transfer, conduct minor repairs, and refer major malfunctions to management or the Maintenance Department.

3. Inventory Management

Assist in maintaining product inventory by receiving, identifying, labeling, and storing products within the Shipping and Receiving area.

4. Documentation and Accountability

Maintain product documentation, implement corrective actions as needed, and place, retrieve, and analyze product monitoring devices.

5. Team Collaboration

Contribute to a team effort by performing in accordance with all STERIS policies, GMP, Lean principles, and other directives.

Requirements

1. High School Diploma or GED

2. Ability to effectively read, write, and verbally communicate

3. Ability to work independently under general guidelines and supervision

4. Requires ability to navigate through defined computer screens

5. Above average organizing, analyzing, and math skills

6. Effective interpersonal skills as demonstrated through prior experience

7. Ability to adapt to changing duties and responsibilities

8. Normal hearing range sufficient to hear alarms, bells, horns, etc.

Preferred Experience

A minimum of two (2) years of warehousing/manufacturing environment or experience
