(KBAL) is on the lookout for a dedicated individual to join our Upholstery department as an Upholstery Technician. This full-time role is based in Calgary, AB, with a standard work schedule of Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, and opportunities for overtime during project-based weekend hours.

Position Overview

The Upholstery Technician will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:

  • Removing, fabricating, installing, refurbishing, and modifying aircraft interior furnishings and equipment.
  • Inspecting, repairing, and maintaining aircraft interiors, which encompasses upholstery, carpeting, cabinetry, panels, lighting, and other furnishings.
  • Fabricating covers and installing flat panels and curtains according to design and engineering specifications.
  • Creating various metal components, fitting panels and windows, and working on cabin headliners, sidewalls, and hatch panels.
  • Utilizing fabric, vinyl, leather hides, composites, and other materials with the appropriate adhesives, sewing tools, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Documenting work performed in accordance with relevant manuals and regulations.
Required Qualifications
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License (Drivers Abstract Required).
  • Demonstrated experience as an upholsterer.
  • Skilled in using upholstery hand tools for aircraft interior applications.
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to interpret design templates for modifications to aircraft interiors.
  • Capability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Eligibility to obtain a Transport Canada Airport Restricted Area Pass.
