Job Title: Postdoctoral Fellow

Job Summary:

The University Health Network is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team at the Ajmera Transplant Centre. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Mamatha Bhat, a renowned Hepatologist and Clinician-Scientist, to explore innovative nanomedicine approaches for the treatment of Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct wet lab experiments and data analysis to advance our understanding of HCC
  • Design and guide animal studies for validation purposes
  • Write grant proposals and peer-reviewed papers to disseminate research findings
  • Analyze and review previous data obtained in the lab pertinent to the projects
  • Participate in weekly lab meetings and additional focus meetings as requested by the PI

Requirements:

  • PhD degree in a relevant field
  • Extensive wet lab experience
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in molecular biology and basic science techniques
  • Previous experience in animal studies is an asset
  • Basic knowledge in bioinformatics tools and analysis
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to work effectively independently and as a team member
