Postdoctoral Fellow Position

The Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute at Sinai Health is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team. As a Postdoctoral Fellow, you will work under the supervision of Drs. Lianne Jeffs and Marianne Saragosa, leading researchers in the field of healthcare and aging.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and initiate an independent research plan, identifying new lines of inquiry within the Institute's work streams.
  • Support all steps in developing and pursuing a research study, including developing a research question, methods, knowledge synthesis, protocol development, ethics applications, organizing and collecting data, and analysis.
  • Support and lead publications, report writing, and other knowledge translation activities related to the candidate's research question.
  • Apply for relevant projects and salary support grants.
Requirements
  • PhD degree required (within the past three years) or scheduled defense date.
  • Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario or becomes eligible prior to assuming Post-doctoral position.
  • Experience working directly with patients, care partners, and healthcare providers.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • High personal motivation, self-management, and detail-orientation; ability to take responsibility in meeting deadlines.
  • A high degree of comfort with change and the ability to adapt as the project evolves in two large, complex health systems and their health technologies.
  • Strong relational and collaboration skills and ability to exert influence and work across sectors (hospitals, primary care, and community).
  • Ability to work independently and without direct supervision and problem-solve technical and methodological issues that arise during the research.
  • Knowledge and experience in computer software applications, including Microsoft Office programs. Experience with research software, including EndNote and NVivo, is an asset.
  • High-level interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Must exhibit high professionalism, judgment, ethical conduct, discretion, and diplomacy.

The successful candidate will have a strong record of academic achievement during their doctoral studies and evidence of scholarly outputs such as peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations. Applicants should have a strong interest in implementation science, models of care, and knowledge mobilization and translation. Emerging track record of securing funding for research is an asset.
