Job Summary

Gwireless Technologies Inc. is seeking a skilled Computer Network Technician to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and administering our local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network Administration: Maintain, troubleshoot, and administer the use of LANs, WANs, mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment.
  • Hardware and Software Evaluation: Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software.
  • Problem-Solving: Provide problem-solving services to network users.
  • Network Maintenance: Perform routine network start-up and close-down and maintain control records.
  • Data Backup and Recovery: Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
  • Network Setup: Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet.
  • Network Optimization: Implement network traffic and security monitoring software, and optimize server performance.
  • Web-Server Backup and Recovery: Perform Web-server backup and recovery operations.
Work Environment

As a Computer Network Technician at Gwireless Technologies Inc., you will work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of pressure. You will be required to perform repetitive tasks and maintain attention to detail.

Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Personal Qualities: Accurate, client-focused, efficient interpersonal skills, judgement, organized, and a team player.
Working Conditions

This is a permanent position with a work term of 35 to 40 hours per week. The work language is English.
