Cost Control Analyst II - Seaspan Vancouver Shipyards

Reporting to the Director of Operations Finance at Seaspan Vancouver Shipyards, the Cost Control Analyst II is an integral member of the Finance Business Partner team, dedicated to supporting Manufacturing, Construction, and Capital Expenditure initiatives. This position requires regular collaboration with Operations and various departments.

The Cost Control Analyst II will undertake the following responsibilities:

  • Evaluating weekly labor performance against the Project Management Budget (PMB)
  • Assisting in the preparation of quarterly Estimate at Completion (EAC) forecasts
  • Creating and developing operational performance metrics
  • Providing analytical support to the Program Controls team
  • Enhancing operational insights through detailed analytical reporting
  • Collecting and analyzing cost and timesheet information
  • Investigating cost discrepancies and compiling management summaries
  • Complying with established procedures while suggesting areas for improvement
  • Formulating and presenting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Conducting ad hoc analyses and fulfilling additional duties as required

Key qualifications for this role include:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or Accounting
  • 3-5 years of experience in project management or financial analysis
  • Familiarity with project controls principles and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) processes
  • Professional certifications such as APM, PMI, or MBA are advantageous
  • Expertise in Earned Value Management and Risk Analysis Techniques
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to perform under pressure
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as SAP BI or Power BI

The estimated salary range for this position is $72,000 - $92,000, with the final offer determined by the candidate's qualifications and experience.
