Position Overview
We are currently seeking a Construction Contract Specialist to oversee the construction phase of various municipal and industrial projects.
Your Role and Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to quality and quantity control measures as well as contractual obligations between EXP and clients.
- Demonstrate proficiency in interpreting drawings related to municipal, industrial, and building projects.
- Compile and prepare internal reports, correspondence, and status updates for assigned projects.
- Monitor project budgets, expenses, payment terms, and other financial commitments.
- Evaluate contractor submissions, including critical path schedules and change proposals, for compliance with contractual requirements and provide guidance to clients and contractors.
- Negotiate change orders, pricing issues, and construction claims effectively.
- Organize meeting agendas, participate in meetings, and document minutes accurately.
- Review payment quantities, coordinate with field staff, and process contractor payments.
- Facilitate the review of shop drawings.
- Verify qualifications and certifications for all contractor personnel, resources, and equipment.
- Assess environmental and traffic control plans, addressing any discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with design standards, building codes, and relevant specifications.
- Conduct site inspections as necessary and provide daily reports on contractor activities in accordance with established standards and regulations.
- Deliver updates and reports to project managers and management.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 4 years of experience focused on the construction phase of municipal, building, and industrial projects.
- Possession of a P.Eng. or CET designation is required, along with relevant project experience.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Strong technical knowledge of industrial and building practices, with a solid understanding of codes and construction methodologies.
- Exhibit a positive attitude and meticulous attention to detail.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with colleagues, clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
