Position Overview: As a Junior Municipal Civil Engineer, you will engage in a variety of municipal infrastructure projects, collaborating across disciplines from initial concept to final execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Under the mentorship of the Engineer of Record, you will create civil engineering designs and conduct site inspections for municipal infrastructure, ensuring all outputs align with established standards.
  • Experience in designing municipal infrastructure, including roads, water systems, sanitary and storm systems, drainage, and grading, is crucial.
  • Collaborate with a team to produce engineering deliverables that adhere to quality standards while respecting budgetary and scheduling constraints.
  • Prepare designs for civil systems related to municipal roads, water, sanitary, and storm systems, drainage, and grading.
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to create design drawings, including plans, profiles, cross-sections, and surface designs for various infrastructure components.
  • Develop specifications and contract documents, technical memorandums, and reports.
  • Conduct construction site inspections and generate corresponding reports.
  • Prepare proposals that include work plans, cost estimates, and schedules using project management software.

Qualifications:

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) or equivalent with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • A minimum of 1+ years of experience in civil engineering design, particularly in municipal infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred.
  • Experience in hydraulic modeling, planning, design, and construction inspection.
  • Familiarity with contract documentation processes.
  • Strong writing skills for creating technical reports and proposals.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with colleagues, subconsultants, contractors, and clients.
  • Valid BC Class V Driver's License.
