Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the shipping and inventory teams to provide timely escalation and resolution of issues
  • Communicate and coordinate with maritime shipping lines, freight forwarders, truckers, and shipping yards to make bookings according to sales contracts
  • Handle bookings per contract shipment requirements, including Incoterms, packaging, weight restrictions, and container size
  • Coordinate all aspects of the shipment process, including booking, e-manifesting, Bills of Lading, and freight invoices
  • Prepare and approve export-related shipping documents, confirm accuracy, and perform data input
  • Obtain loading pictures on all shipments and provide them to customers upon request
  • Create B13/AES export declarations for Canadian and US exports
  • Save digital copies of relevant correspondence and documents
  • Handle a high volume of correspondence with divisions, overseas offices, customers, and transport service providers

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in freight forwarding or handling FCL/LCL Ocean export
  • Knowledge of export regulations, CAED/AES, and full understanding of Incoterms
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Word, and Excel
  • Organizational skills, including prioritization, planning, assignment, and control
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate current situations, respond quickly to changing requirements, and execute accordingly
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced working environment
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with others as a good team player
  • Good verbal and writing skills in French and English
  • Post-secondary education, preferably in business, transportation, or logistics management
