JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for a skilled consultant to spearhead public involvement initiatives for planning and energy infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in crafting comprehensive engagement and communication strategies that encompass relationship management, consultation, and issue resolution. Success in this role requires the ability to excel in a collaborative setting where both relationships and outcomes are paramount. If you are passionate about delving into complex topics while facilitating strategic thinking, this opportunity may be ideal for you.

Some travel may be necessary.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:


• Offer strategic and confidential consultation across various functions, delivering innovative solutions pertinent to the organization’s management and daily operations.

• Lead and engage in projects that identify present and future business requirements, industry best practices, and organizational challenges; provide actionable recommendations and implement operational enhancements that influence SaskPower's functions and personnel.

• Facilitate and contribute to cross-departmental teams, strategic planning efforts, workshops, and meetings to devise creative and effective business solutions.

• Create, organize, and present reports, presentations, and briefings for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Champion and drive change initiatives, ensuring successful implementation of strategic projects or programs throughout the organization.

• Cultivate and sustain strategic networks and professional relationships both within and outside of SaskPower to promote a constructive and efficient work atmosphere.

• Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, corporate initiatives, and/or designated staff as needed.

• Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:


• Bachelor’s degree in Resource/Environmental Management, Community/Regional Planning, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field AND/OR;

• Relevant professional certifications and/or designations; IAP2 training is considered advantageous AND/OR;

• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in community engagement, stakeholder relations, and program execution.

• Proven ability to lead teams and foster strategic relationships both internally and externally.

• Results-driven mindset, capable of managing and advising on complex and sensitive issues with professionalism and discretion.

• Ability to influence and motivate others while ensuring accountability.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

• Capacity to adapt and manage in a dynamic environment.

• Strong interpersonal, facilitation, project management, and decision-making skills.

• Ability to promote a culture centered on safety, innovation, and teamwork.

• Demonstrated proficiency in SaskPower's core competencies.

• A continuous record of professional development is essential.

A suitable combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered.
