Position Overview
The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking a dedicated Health Care Aide (HCA) to provide essential support to patients in their daily activities. This role is vital in ensuring that individuals receive compassionate and personalized care in accordance with established health standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents/patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as outlined in their care plans.
- Work collaboratively under the supervision of Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses.
- Maintain a high level of competency through ongoing education and certification.
- Exercise independent judgment and initiative in prioritizing tasks and addressing unusual situations.
- Adhere to the mission, vision, and values of the organization while following relevant policies.
Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 12 education.
- Health Care Aide Certificate from an accredited program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience in a healthcare setting, particularly with elderly or disabled clients, is preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage stressful situations.
- Knowledge of privacy legislation and workplace safety protocols.

- Possession of a valid driver's license may be necessary for certain roles.
