Position Overview: Nursing Aide, CCSI
The Nursing Aide, CCSI is responsible for a range of tasks that include maintaining cleanliness and organization in treatment areas, as well as assisting in the transportation of patients and medical equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate the movement of patients, medical supplies, and documentation within the healthcare facility.
- Ensure thorough cleaning of examination and procedure rooms within the designated care units.
- Monitor and replenish stock of medical and office supplies, completing necessary documentation for inventory management.
- Conduct sterilization and cleaning of equipment as required.
- Replenish supplies in examination and procedure rooms according to established protocols.
- Assist in the management of patient information by photocopying relevant documents as instructed.
- Generate and distribute daily appointment schedules for patients throughout the facility.
- Collect meals for patients from the cafeteria as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisory staff.
Qualifications and Skills
Required:
- Completion of secondary education (Grade 12).
- A minimum of one year of relevant experience or a combination of education and training.
Desired Attributes:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and the public.
- Proficiency in operating relevant office equipment.
- Commitment to understanding and implementing the principles of reconciliation and cultural safety.
- Knowledge of the socio-economic and historical contexts affecting Indigenous communities is considered an asset.
