SHIFT DETAILS:
10AM-6:30PM / PRN / 2 SHIFTS PER MONTH / MUST BE AVAILABLE ON MONDAYS
ROLE OVERVIEW:
As a Registered Nurse, you will lead agency-wide initiatives focused on pressure ulcer prevention, wound care, and ostomy management. This includes supporting data collection on pressure ulcer prevalence, developing evidence-based policies, and advising on appropriate support surfaces and products.
Educational Responsibilities: You will design and implement educational programs and clinical instruction for Emory Healthcare staff and students in the Wound Ostomy Continence Education Program.
Clinical Guidance: Provide advanced clinical support to physicians and nursing staff in managing complex wounds, fistulas, moisture management, and pressure ulcers.
Nursing Interventions: Assess patient needs and determine appropriate nursing interventions for identified problems, symptoms, and educational requirements related to wound and ostomy care.
Equipment Recommendations: Suggest necessary equipment, materials, and resources to effectively implement wound or ostomy care plans.
Pre-Operative and Post-Operative Care: Conduct pre-operative stoma site marking and ostomy education, and develop post-operative care plans for patients and their families.
Qualifications: Must possess a valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or a temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board. Current Healthcare Provider BLS Certification is required. Candidates should have two years of recent Registered Nursing experience and complete an accredited WOC Nursing Education program. Certification in Wound Care and Ostomy Care must be achieved within 12 months. While prior experience in Wound and Ostomy care is preferred, it is not mandatory.
