Finance Internship Role

This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in various aspects of finance within a dynamic and growing organization. You will work closely with experienced professionals and contribute to essential financial processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accounts Payable:
    • Assist in maintaining vendor files.
    • Process invoices and expense claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance with approval procedures.
    • Reconcile vendor statements to verify account balances and resolve discrepancies.
    • Support the Accounts Payable Coordinator in preparing weekly electronic fund transfers (EFT) payments.
  • Accounts Receivable:
    • Assist in maintaining customer files.
    • Issue invoices in the accounting system based on staff requests.
    • Support the Accounts Receivable Coordinator with monthly reconciliation of customer accounts.
  • Month-End and Administration:
    • Collaborate with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Coordinators to reconcile bank accounts at month-end.
    • Assist the Finance Manager in preparing accurate and timely journal entries and reports.
    • Provide administrative support as needed.
Requirements
  • Must be enrolled in an internship program at a post-secondary institution.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and a strong desire to learn about accounting within a complex organization.
  • Possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Exhibit effective time management, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Maintain meticulous attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and proficiency in mathematical calculations.
  • Be pursuing a post-secondary education in finance and accounting.
