Your Role: As the Lead Marketing Strategist at Brooks Sports Inc., you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the Brooks brand connects deeply with runners and fitness enthusiasts across Canada. This will be achieved through the orchestration of events, community engagements, and the management of local social media platforms. Your efforts will drive marketing initiatives that align with the overarching brand strategy and stimulate business growth through dynamic and relevant concepts tailored to our target audience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Brand Development & Community Engagement
  • Design, plan, and implement consumer-oriented events such as race expos, community runs, and marketing activations that foster brand loyalty among Canadian runners and fitness aficionados.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with running groups, fitness studios, and academic institutions to enhance brand visibility for Brooks.
  • Lead the creative collaboration with the Creative Design team and external partners to produce engaging event materials.
  • Oversee the logistics and execution of all event components to ensure a seamless experience.
  • Social Media Management
  • Expand the Brooks Canada social media presence by innovating engagement strategies that resonate with the Canadian running community, including localized content and scheduling.
  • Identify and connect with new fans, influencers, and advocates to broaden reach and enhance engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Brooks Running Collective, athletes, and existing influencers to highlight compelling content across owned channels. Partner with the Influencer Specialist to explore new opportunities for Brooks' social media.
  • Manage social media communities, ensuring that content is culturally relevant and engaging for Canadian runners.
  • Maintain a consistent brand voice that aligns with the expectations of various channels and resonates with the target audience.
  • Oversee the Brooks Future Run Program in Canada, focusing on recruiting middle, high school, and university athletes and coaches while identifying local support opportunities. Ensure alignment with US program initiatives.
  • Monitor emerging trends, community interests, and audience needs, providing insights to the internal team as necessary.
  • Coordinate local content production, including talent, photography, and videography.
  • Edit multimedia content to meet brand standards and optimize for diverse platforms.
  • Analytical and Communication Skills
  • Provide regular updates on program performance and communicate outcomes to the Marketing Manager.
  • Assess and report on the effectiveness of local marketing tactics, compiling actionable insights into regular reports.
  • Ensure timely and budget-conscious execution of marketing initiatives.
  • Deliver a robust return on investment for brand initiatives that align with strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with the US Marketing Team to ensure cohesive brand and product campaign strategies.
  • Manage key stakeholder relationships to facilitate smooth execution and alignment of initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Business or Marketing is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the fitness sector, with a focus on event management and social media marketing strategy.
  • Exceptional editorial writing skills, with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proven ability to engage effectively with clients and present ideas compellingly in group settings.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with meticulous attention to detail.
  • High proficiency in MS Office applications, with moderate skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat. Quick to learn new software.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, including the capacity to identify potential challenges and devise effective solutions.
  • Analytical skills to generate reports, interpret data, identify trends, and recommend actionable strategies.
  • Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends.
  • A valid driver's license and driving competency are essential for this position.
