About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Plant Mechanic to join our team at Rio Tinto's Sorel-Tracy facility. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to mechanical work, welding, and industrial plumbing during major and periodic shutdowns;
  • Diagnose and make necessary repairs to keep our equipment in perfect condition;
  • Actively participate in project, work, and intervention planning;
  • Thoroughly prepare work to ensure optimal efficiency;
  • Contribute to safety, process, and mechanical improvements;
  • Perform preventive rounds and adjust equipment as needed;
  • Ensure the use of good occupational health and safety practices;
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment (5S).

Requirements:

  • Commitment to your safety and that of your team;
  • Diploma in mechanical manufacturing or mechanical engineering or maintenance analysis technique;
  • Or High School Diploma + General Welding Technical Certificate and Industrial Mechanics Diploma;
  • Or High School Diploma + Industrial Mechanics Diploma with 2 years of relevant experience;
  • Or High School Diploma, Industrial Mechanic Diploma, Industrial Control ASP, and Pipe-Welding ASP;
  • Reside in Canada with the right to work.
