Job Summary

Options Consulting Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Legal Assistant to support their Commercial Litigation group. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the service provided to valued clients while making a significant impact.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Drafting and preparing legal documents, presentations, and correspondence to ensure accuracy and proper format.
  • Compiling records and briefs as needed, and managing the service and filing of legal documents with courts.
  • Managing and tracking deadlines, appointments, and lawyers' calendars, scheduling as necessary.
  • Opening, closing, and maintaining physical and electronic files, including detailed client lists and electronic filing systems.
  • Handling internal and external communications, including responding to inquiries and managing client relationships.
  • Entering dockets into accounting software and managing monthly accounts for accuracy.
  • Managing client inquiries and updating contact lists in CRM, collaborating with the Marketing and Business Development department.
  • Performing general administrative tasks, including scheduling, travel arrangements, and supporting colleagues.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 3-5 years of relevant litigation experience.
  • Post-secondary education with a Legal Assistant Diploma or Law Clerk certificate.
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, statutes, and the Rules of Civil Procedure.
  • Proficiency in legal software, MS Office 365, and PDF tools (Kofax Power PDF/Adobe).
  • Ability to work independently under tight deadlines and adapt to new technologies.
  • Familiarity with scheduling and filing processes.
  • Strong attention to detail, proofreading skills, and a commitment to quality service.
