Holt Renfrew is seeking a seasoned professional to lead the development of our most valuable asset - our people. As a key member of the People team, this position will play a critical role in implementing the Talent Management facet of our 5-year people strategy.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing and implementing strategic talent programs that drive business results. They will be a subject matter expert in talent development, succession planning, and talent mapping, with a strong understanding of the retail industry and its challenges.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive talent management strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives
  • Partnering with HR Business Partners to assess, identify, and develop successors, as well as design and launch talent programs
  • Collaborating with Learning and Development, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion COEs to identify, develop, and retain identified successors
  • Designing and facilitating programs and courses to support the execution and implementation of the Talent Management strategy
  • Implementing and directing talent development programs and processes, including succession planning, talent and role mapping, and development planning
  • Building relationships with internal and external business partners to understand business requirements and priorities and align to talent programs
  • Managing relationships with vendors to ensure successful delivery on service agreements, along with rigorous budget management
  • Working with peers and stakeholders across the People team to identify synergies, leading practices, and efficiencies in support of our desired culture and talent strategy
  • Championing change and leading communication in all Talent programs
  • Providing relevant and timely insights related to talent management, analyzing and drawing insights to measure program effectiveness and to develop insights to inform their evolution
  • Ensuring compliance with privacy policies, regulations, and cyber security measures

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A post-secondary degree in Human Resources and/or Industrial and Organizational Psychology
  • 5+ years of experience in designing and implementing strategic talent programs
  • Proven experience and passion for Key Capability and Skills identification, assessment, and design
  • Strong project and change management skills
  • Collaborative team player who can build relationships easily across the organization to move initiatives forward
  • Strong knowledge and experience in talent development, program design, succession planning, and talent mapping
  • Instructional design, learning program development, and facilitation experience
  • The ability to excel in a high-paced and entrepreneurial retail environment of change and ambiguity
  • Proven success in building and maintaining strong working relationships within internal and external partners
  • Well-versed in methodologies for measuring and assessing effectiveness of programs and processes
  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to curate written narratives and communications that support internal communications and required materials for senior leaders
  • Strong interpersonal and oral and written communications skills, including the ability to comfortably and effectively convey information speaking in front of groups
