Job Summary

This is a challenging role that requires a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of capital projects at our Grande Prairie Pulp Mill. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, project management, and leadership, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of capital projects, including mechanical design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project deliverables are met.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design notes, calculations, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with procurement personnel to purchase and expedite equipment.
  • Review vendor drawings and documentation.
  • Coordinate and review inspection and quality control services for fabricated equipment.
  • Safely manage the project construction phase.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in mechanical design, project management, and leadership.
  • Registered Engineer in Training or Professional Engineer with APEGA.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Solidworks, and SAP.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
