At Veren Inc., we're committed to harnessing diverse thinking to innovate and grow. As a Facilities Engineer - Capital Projects Specialist, you'll play a key role in providing technical support to our operations and maintenance groups.

Purpose:

The successful candidate will work closely with our Calgary-based engineering teams and field-based development, operations, engineering & maintenance teams in the execution of capital projects.

  • Lead facilities optimization activities including debottlenecking, modifications, rationalizing of consolidations, scoping of projects and other potential operating cost reduction initiatives.
  • Liaise with Calgary-based facilities engineers and field-based development teams in the project scoping, design and project management of various gas and oil field-related facilities.
  • Identify facility/pipeline requirements for current and future capital development, utilizing process/pipeline simulation software where applicable.
  • Provide technical support by implementing best engineering practices and safe work practices.
  • Provide technical support to facility construction supervisors (FCS) ensuring that fit-for-purpose designs are constructed and engineering design requirements are met.
  • Provide technical support/guidance to the regulatory group ensuring that facilities and infrastructure is compliant and provide recommendations on non-compliant facilities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or nationally accredited 2-year Engineering Technology diploma.
  • Experience in both oil and gas field operations and maintenance would be an asset.
  • Experience in the Canadian upstream oil and gas industry including capital project planning and execution would be an asset.
  • Experience of working with best operating practices would be an asset.
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in: Microsoft Office applications and Bluebeam.
  • Must be completely conversant and current with all regulatory requirements in each jurisdiction.
  • Strong technical skills with the ability to work at both the field and corporate level.
  • Ability to make sound analytical decisions and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
