Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking a Maintenance Engineer 5 to be part of the Plant Maintenance team.
This position involves working within a dynamic environment where you will contribute to the upkeep and functionality of essential systems.
Key Responsibilities
Execute skilled trades tasks at a journeyman level across various disciplines including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and welding. Conduct maintenance and repair operations for facilities and equipment, including mechanical and electrical systems associated with plant operations. Manage the operation, repair, and preventive maintenance of boilers, air conditioning systems, emergency power supplies, and other critical equipment in accordance with relevant codes and standards. May assist in processing departmental purchase requests as needed. Be adaptable to support maintenance operations in various capacities. Potentially engage in inter-site assignments and provide support to trades personnel.Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
Possession of a Certificate of Competency as a 4th Class Power Engineer recognized by the Province of BC. A minimum of two (2) years of recent, relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Skills & Competencies
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with colleagues and stakeholders. Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Physical capability to perform the duties required by the position. Organizational skills to manage work efficiently. Competence in operating related machinery and equipment.Additional Information
Work hours, including days off and specific work areas, may vary based on operational needs and collective agreements. Successful candidates may be required to undergo a Criminal Records Review Check.
