Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Bartender (Hospitality Professional) to join our team at the Edmonton EXPO Centre. As a frontline staff member, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless experience for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide superior guest experience and customer satisfaction
  • Complete drink transactions with cashless payment systems or proper ticket procedures
  • Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons
  • Serve wine, beer, and mixed drinks from bar stations or provide butler service to tables or within a reception environment
  • Check proof of age and ensure Duty of Care
  • Set up and take down bar units, as well as load bar units with beverages and mixes
  • Clean and disinfect all glassware, utensils, and bar equipment
  • Report any damaged equipment or product breakage/spillage to supervisors and take appropriate action
  • Understand, follow, and comply with Edmonton EXPO Centre's Health and Safety policy, as well as OH&S Regulations
  • Use GBAC's infectious disease prevention measures and ensure all equipment is properly cleaned and disinfected
  • Support and promote Edmonton EXPO Centre's sustainability commitment as part of our brand

Requirements

  • Pro-Serve certification
  • Previous bartending experience is considered an asset
  • Excellent verbal communication and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • The ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • A business-level understanding of the English language
  • Knowledge of Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission rules and regulations
  • Additional courses such as First Aid training, wine tasting, and mixology are an asset
