About the Role:

In this position, you will play a vital role in ensuring that individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) receive high-quality support that enhances their quality of life. Key responsibilities may include:

  • Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with individuals, families, and community members
  • Providing coaching and support in areas such as social skills, communication, and leisure activities
  • Identifying and addressing barriers that impact an individual's quality of life, ensuring that Personal Outcomes are met
  • Administering medication as per established procedures
  • Following established Behavioural and Crisis Protocols
  • Developing and maintaining a positive work environment through leadership and coaching of colleagues
  • This position supports adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder
Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Human Services Diploma from a recognized Community College or University, or a Personal Support Worker certificate from a Community College or a registered and Ministry-approved Private Career College, with at least one year of related experience (preferably supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder); OR
  • Completion of Ontario Secondary School (or equivalent) and at least five years of related experience (preferably supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder)
  • A solid understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder and the unique support requirements of individuals with this diagnosis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
  • The ability to physically support adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • The ability to complete the NVCI certification and perform required physical techniques (training will be provided at no cost)
  • A valid Driver's License with a minimum G2 and a reliable vehicle
  • As a condition of employment, employees must be able to provide a Driver's Abstract in good standing with fewer than three demerit points
