Key Qualifications
  1. At least 3 years of professional tax preparation experience using specialized tax software.
  2. A minimum of 125 tax returns completed each tax season over the past 3 years.
  3. Experience in preparing and filing comprehensive personal tax returns covering various topics such as employment, self-employment, rental income, investments, T1135, foreign income, and all applicable credits/deductions.
  4. Possession of a current and active CRA RepID to utilize the CRA Represent a Client service.
  5. Strong understanding of tax regulations and principles.
  6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  7. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  8. Proficient with technology, including Windows, Mac, mobile platforms, and G-suite applications (Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.).
  9. Flexibility in scheduling and availability.
  10. Strong customer service orientation and experience.
  11. Knowledge of Quebec Tax (TP1) returns is a plus.
  12. Bilingual proficiency in English and French (reading, writing, speaking) is a significant advantage.
  13. Experience in a contact center environment is beneficial.

Position Overview

  1. Provide expert tax guidance for personal tax returns in a remote, seasonal, customer-facing role.
  2. Collaborate with clients to prepare and/or review their tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance through expert guidance and tax preparation services.
  3. Research and resolve tax-related inquiries while communicating directly with clients to address specific tax or technical questions.
  4. Deliver a comprehensive service experience by preparing, reviewing, and filing client returns with the CRA, or by assisting clients with tax advice and guidance on necessary documentation.
  5. Investigate tax regulations to provide precise advice on maximizing clients' tax returns.
  6. Create high-quality client interactions that foster confidence through deep empathy and extensive tax knowledge.
  7. Proactively seek and deliver accurate answers for each client by utilizing government resources, professional references, and team expertise, translating complex information into accessible language.
