About the Role

VAN OVERSEAS LTD. is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeping Specialist to join our team. As a Bookkeeping Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Accounting Standards Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, including GAAP and tax laws.
  • Payroll and Benefits Administration: Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll, and administer benefits programs.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Prepare and submit financial reports to management and regulatory bodies.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in bookkeeping or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and proficiency in accounting software.
  • Security Clearance: Basic security clearance required.
  • Criminal Record Check: Criminal record check required.
