Position Overview

As a vital member of the management team, the Director of Human Capital will oversee the implementation of human resources policies and procedures. This role includes establishing standards for compensation and benefits, as well as supporting team members in various human resources functions, workplace health and safety, ethics, integrity, and volunteer management.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities for this position encompass:

  • Leading and guiding team members in their respective roles;
  • Conducting research and providing insights on labor legislation, compensation structures, and necessary documentation;
  • Acting as the primary advocate for promoting equity, inclusion, and diversity in recruitment and management practices for both staff and volunteers;
  • Collaborating with the management team to recruit and onboard employees and volunteers;
  • Advising directors on utilizing contribution appreciation programs;
  • Ensuring effective communication and integration of activities across all relevant areas;
  • Liaising with external stakeholders regarding available services and programs;
  • Implementing transition programs for employees concluding their contracts;
  • Working collaboratively within a team while maintaining positive professional relationships.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in human resources, industrial relations, or a related field;
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a management role within a relevant sector.

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written;

  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
