Position Overview
As a Surety Claims Consultant at Intact, you will be an integral member of a dynamic team dedicated to Specialty Lines Claims, with a focus on Contract Surety, Commercial Surety, Developer Surety, and Home Warranty claims.
Your proficiency in managing surety claims will be essential in working collaboratively with the team to provide outstanding service and uphold Intact's esteemed reputation for excellence in claims management.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage intricate surety bond claims, including evaluating coverage and executing loss recovery efforts.
- Engage with Surety Underwriting to offer assistance on claims-related issues.
- Formulate strategies for effective claims management and resolution in conjunction with the Manager.
- Mentor junior team members on complex claims processes.
- Stay updated on industry developments and work with management on proactive initiatives.
- Navigate insolvency situations and collaborate with Trustees/Receivers as necessary.
- Negotiate settlements and implement resolutions for claims.
- Oversee documentation and claims strategy within established parameters.
- Work alongside internal and external partners for efficient claims processing.
- Support departmental initiatives and adapt to changes as required.
- Ensure clear communication with stakeholders for a seamless claims experience.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree is mandatory.
- 5-10 years of experience in surety claims is essential.
- Experience in management and mentoring is advantageous.
- Exhibit a positive attitude, adaptability, and a sense of ownership.
- Possess strong analytical, decision-making, and organizational capabilities.
- Demonstrate a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
- Willingness to travel as required.
