Job Title: Nurse - Renal Health Hope Center

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse to join our team at the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay (CBHSSJB). As a Nurse - Renal Health Hope Center, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with renal health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the health condition of patients and determine individualized care plans.
  • Provide nursing and medical care to maintain and restore health, as well as prevent disease.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to assess potential candidates for home hemodialysis programs.
  • Conduct home visits to evaluate the home environment and provide personalized training schedules.
  • Teach clients about their supply needs and how to order them.
  • Provide routine home visits to assess client needs and provide support.

Requirements:

  • Member in good standing of the O.I.I.Q.
  • DEC in nursing.
  • Three (3) years of experience as a nurse, including two (2) years in different sectors of a hospital or clinics in CBHSSJB and one (1) year in Hemodialysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Cree culture and social and health issues in Eeyou Istchee (asset).
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Good resistance to stress.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Take initiative and be autonomous.
  • Open to others and their culture, ability to adapt to change, and to a new environment.
  • Show interest and empathy towards others.
  • Possess a capacity for analysis and synthesis.

The Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay is responsible for providing health and social services for all persons residing permanently or temporarily in the Eeyou Istchee region, the Cree Territory of James Bay.

We are a remote region in northern Quebec made up of nine communities of the Cree Nation, an Indigenous population of nearly 18,000 people.
