Job Title: Registered Practical Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at The Grand Canal Retirement Residence.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care, administer medications, and conduct specimen collection. They will also ensure infection control, observe and record medication's therapeutic and side effects, and take vital signs. Additionally, they will provide safety and health education to individuals and their families, and monitor patients' progress, evaluating the effectiveness of nursing interventions and consulting with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer medications and conduct specimen collection
  • Ensure infection control and observe and record medication's therapeutic and side effects
  • Take vital signs and provide safety and health education to individuals and their families
  • Monitor patients' progress and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions
  • Consult with the healthcare team and provide nursing services within the defined scope of practice
Requirements:
  • Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work
  • Completion of the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate
  • CPR Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
