About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Services Worker to join our team at the Nova Scotia Health Authority. As an Environmental Services Worker, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and functional environment for patients, families, staff, and visitors.

The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning all units as assigned, including patient rooms and public areas. This will involve:

  • Maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organization in patient rooms and public areas
  • Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, equipment, and furniture
  • Operating specialized cleaning equipment, such as Taski spray buffers and auto scrubbers
  • Assisting with the maintenance of a safe and healthy environment by reporting any hazards or concerns to management

In addition to these responsibilities, the Environmental Services Worker will also be expected to:

  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure a seamless and efficient cleaning process
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff to ensure their needs are met
  • Participate in ongoing training and education to stay up-to-date on best practices and procedures

About You

We are seeking a candidate who possesses the following qualifications and skills:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent work experience
  • Commitment to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practices, and organizational health
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Travel to other sites may be required; access to a reliable vehicle is required
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

This is a casual relief position, with hours varying depending on the needs of the department.

Compensation and Incentives

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive hourly rate of $19.26-$20.02, depending on experience.
