About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our facilities services team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the day-to-day maintenance and project-related activities for our facilities, including heating, air conditioning, power, and water generation units.
  • Ensure all functions are completed in accordance with legislation, established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Exhibit sound professional judgment and initiative while working within the organization's Mission, Vision, and Strategic Directions.
  • Incorporate the organization's Core Competencies and Values into daily practice.

Requirements:

  • Certification as a Power Engineer 4th Class is required.
  • Travel to other sites is required, and a reliable vehicle is necessary.
  • Five (5) years' experience in plant operations is preferred.
  • Knowledge of building code standards and Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) is essential.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team is required.
  • Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French being preferred.
