About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dietitian to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing expert nutrition advice and care to patients, families, and communities.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in clinical nutrition and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care. You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective nutrition plans, provide education and support to patients and families, and contribute to the development of nutrition policies and procedures.

We are looking for a Dietitian who is a strong communicator, a team player, and a lifelong learner. About You

We are seeking a Dietitian who has:

  • A Bachelor's degree with a major concentration in Foods and Nutrition
  • A Dietetic Internship Program
  • Current registration (or eligibility) with the Nova Scotia Dietetic Association
  • Minimum one (1) year working experience as a dietitian
  • Inpatient clinical nutrition experience an asset
  • Competency in dysphagia management, enteral and parenteral nutrition
  • Experience counselling patients in an outpatient setting
  • Current WHMIS an asset
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, problem solve, and work under pressure of time limitations
  • Demonstrated participation in continuing education and upgrading of skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours
  • Long-assignment part-time; 60% position; 45 hours bi-weekly
  • Approximately 18 months; assignment length subject to change
Compensation and Incentives

$43.43 Hourly
