Job Summary

As a Support Care Specialist, you will provide high-quality care and support to our clients in their homes, assisting with daily living activities and promoting their independence and well-being.

Responsibilities
  • Personal Care: Assist with personal hygiene, incontinence care, dressing and grooming, light massage and passive range of motion, ambulation, positioning and transferring, feeding by mouth, and mouth care.
  • Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs): Assist with laundry and linen change, light housekeeping, meals and nutrition, and transportation planning.
  • Observation and Reporting: Observe and report changes in clients' conditions to the healthcare team.
  • Companionship and Social Support: Provide companionship, social, and emotional support to clients.
  • Errands and Appointments: Accompany clients on errands and to appointments.
  • Medication Reminders: Assist with medication reminders.
  • Mobility Assistance: Assist clients with mobility around the house or outside of the home.
Requirements
  • Certification: Canadian Support Care Specialist certificate.
  • Police Record Check: Clear enhanced police record check.
  • CPR/BLS Certificate: Valid CPR/BLS certificate.
  • WHMIS Training: Ability to complete WHMIS training.
  • Reliable Transportation: Reliable transportation.
  • Team Player: Enjoy working with a team.
  • Independent Work: Enjoy working independently with clients.
  • Caring and Respectful Manner: A caring and respectful manner with clients and coworkers.
  • Compassionate and Supportive: Act in a compassionate and supportive manner.
