Principal Process Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Process Engineer to join our team in Eastern Canada. As a key member of our process engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the development of process deliverables during studies and project phases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a process engineering team to develop process design criteria, process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, equipment sizing, specification development, and mass and energy balances.
- Contribute to the delivery of multidiscipline engineering design by liaising with other engineering disciplines and clients.
- Stay abreast of the latest process technology developments.
- Manage budgets and resources for process study scopes.
- Liaise with and contribute to the Global Ausenco Process Team.
- Contribute innovation and lean thinking into process designs.
- Represent Ausenco's corporate image through marketing and conferences.
- Demonstrate leadership in industry safety protocols.
About You
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in mineral processing, extractive metallurgy, or chemical engineering. A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in mineral concentrator and/or hydrometallurgical plant design is required. Proven field experience in construction, commissioning, and/or operations is a benefit.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mineral Processing, Extractive Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience in mineral concentrator and/or hydrometallurgical plant design.
- Proven field experience in construction, commissioning, and/or operations.
- Experience in a consulting engineering capacity.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including project management skills and supervisory skills.
- Good communication skills with well-developed written and oral skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and coordinate technical issues with clients.
- Proven ability to work as part of a team.
- Demonstrated initiative and ingenuity in providing engineering solutions.
- Ability to effectively translate field and engineering experience to other process staff and design activities.
- Demonstrated capacity to align with Ausenco's corporate culture and client base business cultures.
