Position Overview
As a prominent energy provider with over a century of expertise, we are dedicated to delivering renewable energy, natural gas, electricity, and propane to a vast customer base. We are on the lookout for skilled professionals to help us reshape the energy landscape.
As an Operations Supervisor, you will be at the forefront of managing our Kootenay region operations. Your role will involve leading a proficient team to address daily operational demands, oversee capital construction initiatives, and ensure effective emergency response protocols. Your commitment to safety and operational integrity will be paramount in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct a team of unionized personnel to fulfill daily operational requirements and project commitments.
- Become proficient with scheduling software and applications to ensure timely and budget-compliant deliverables.
- Collaborate with internal resources to maintain optimal staffing levels.
- Oversee contracted services in alignment with established agreements.
- Engage in the recruitment process to select new team members inclusively.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to enhance team performance and support ongoing professional development.
- Utilize your field expertise to resolve operational challenges and collaborate with colleagues as needed.
- Conduct site visits to ensure compliance with industry standards and service agreements.
- Foster a safe and inclusive work environment for all team members.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including Site Safe Work Planning.
- Distribute safety resources and personal protective equipment as necessary.
- Participate in investigations related to incidents.
- Manage budgets and contracts effectively, ensuring financial oversight.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including customers, contractors, and municipal agencies.
- Promote a culture of safety to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Collaborate with peers to develop strategic initiatives aimed at operational excellence.
- A minimum of five years of management experience in natural gas infrastructure; a post-secondary diploma is advantageous.
- Experience in construction, underground utilities, and emergency response is preferred.
- A strong commitment to safety and quality solutions.
- A collaborative approach to enhancing workplace connections.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
