Primary Responsibilities:

  • Acting as a subject matter authority, delivers Tier 3 assistance for ADS-B, MLAT, and WAM systems to guarantee secure and effective operations; offers technical knowledge in maintenance and logistical support as part of a multidisciplinary project team responsible for national procurement, installation, and maintenance standards of these systems.
  • Oversees the coordination of personnel and manages all internal and external stakeholders involved in lifecycle management activities.
  • As the technical lead for designated projects and systems, implements a work plan within established timelines and budgets; allocates tasks, coordinates efforts, and supervises activities.
  • Conducts trend analysis of operational systems, including asset management, Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), Mean Time to Recover (MTTR), and system availability utilizing CMMS and other analytical tools.
  • Validates and documents maintenance actions ensuring adherence to ICAO and CARS standards while recording restoration procedures.
  • Develops plans and designs; engages in research and development; investigates operational challenges; performs safety assessments, and evaluates deviations from established standards.
  • Gathers and assesses client system requirements; analyzes intricate technical and operational issues; identifies innovative technical solutions; manages the lifecycle of system configurations.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Completion of secondary education followed by a full-time post-secondary program in electronics technology from a recognized institution or equivalent.

Experience:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of technical experience with ADS-B, MLAT, or WAM systems.
  • Five (5) years of experience in the repair, maintenance, installation, or training of surveillance equipment in operational settings.
  • Familiarity with LINUX and Microsoft operating systems.
  • Experience in network design and protocols utilizing CISCO and Hewlett Packard technologies.

Knowledge (25%):

  • Understanding of the principles, techniques, and practices of electrical and electronic engineering, including relevant codes, standards, and operational procedures.
  • Familiarity with design, development, and lifecycle management tools (CMMS) and industry trends.
  • Knowledge of methodologies and disciplines employed in project and lifecycle management.
  • Understanding of electronic theory, RF theory, computer systems, and operations related to ADS-B and WAM.
  • Knowledge of techniques and practices for maintaining, monitoring, modifying, adapting, and returning electronic equipment to service.
  • Awareness of network design principles, configuration, and restoration practices.

Skills (30%):

  • Ability to accurately interpret complex issues, devise suitable alternative solutions, and implement corrective measures.
  • Capability to establish national standards and procedures for guiding field personnel.
  • Ability to formulate technical specifications for proposals, statements of work, agreements, and contracts; produce detailed technical reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Competence in analyzing extensive data sets and providing summaries and recommendations.
  • Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal.
