We are seeking a highly skilled Tire Technician to join our team at GFL Environmental. As a Tire Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our rolling equipment by performing tire repairs, replacements, and checks.
Key Responsibilities- Tire Maintenance and Repair: Perform all tire repairs, replacements, and checks on our rolling equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of tires and track inventory to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Quality Control: Conduct daily tire checks on all rolling equipment to ensure air pressure, tire condition, and wheel lug tightness meet company standards.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Team Collaboration: Assist shop mechanics as needed to ensure seamless operation of our equipment.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform miscellaneous equipment cleaning and maintenance tasks as required.
- Grounds Maintenance: Assist with maintaining attractive grounds by picking up and removing debris and disposing of it properly.
- Professional Development: Maintain a working knowledge of new technology through the use of technical manuals and attendance at technical training seminars.
- Attendance and Participation: Attend safety and branch meetings to stay informed and engaged with company initiatives.
- Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one (1) to three (3) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Licenses and Certifications: Possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and meet relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to Company standards.
- Operational Skills: Ability to operate any equipment necessary to perform job duties.
- Communication Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple correspondence and instructions, and write simple correspondence such as daily paperwork and reports.
- Physical Abilities: Ability to stand, sit, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, climb, balance, taste, and smell.
- Vision Requirements: Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Environmental Factors: Frequently exposed to loud noise, humidity, hot and cold weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, vibration, toxic and caustic chemicals, fumes, and airborne particles.
- Work Environment: Frequently work in outside weather conditions, occasionally work in high precarious places, and work environment is usually loud.
