About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Project Manager to join our team at Canonical. As a key member of our Public Cloud team, you will be responsible for managing multiple high-profile projects simultaneously, ensuring successful delivery of our cloud solutions to our key Tier 1 Enterprise Public Cloud accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Ensure programs and projects are delivered within the schedule, scope, cost, budget, and resources expectations.
  • Risk Management: Identify key technical and project risks and issues and actively put mitigating actions in place.
  • Customer Focus: Maintain strong customer focus and work with all key stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Contract Negotiation: Assist senior management with contract negotiations and development of a project statement of work and RFI/RFP response.
  • Status Meetings: Conduct regular status meetings and business reviews with customers and provide direction when needed.
  • Third-Party Deliverables: Manage the delivery schedule of critical third-party deliverables for the project.
  • Cross-Organization Requests: Identify and manage cross-organization engineering requests that are not part of existing business contracts.
  • Technology Advocacy: Advocate to customers the appropriate technologies from Canonical's portfolio.
Requirements
  • IT Cloud Industry Experience: Proven background in IT Cloud industry as a software development project manager, IT program/project manager, agile software manager, or scrum master.
  • Linux and Open Source Knowledge: Deep understanding of Linux, Open source, and the Public Cloud space.
  • Software Engineering Experience: Software engineering experience.
  • Travel Requirements: Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Negotiation and Influencing Skills: Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills.
Additional Skills
  • PMI Certification: PMI or equivalent certification preferred, e.g., Scrum Master.
  • Full Lifecycle Project Management: Full lifecycle project management experience.
  • Global Project Delivery: Delivering global projects remotely.
