Sign Maker Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Sign Maker to join our team at Horizon Sign Solutions Inc. in Edmonton, AB. As a Sign Maker, you will be responsible for creating high-quality signs using various materials and equipment.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Equipment Operation: Operate all sign making equipment, including printers, laminators, plotters, and other machinery.
  • Graphic Design: Generate proofs and production files using basic graphic design requirements.
  • Quality Control: Ensure accuracy of end products, including measurements, colors, and workmanship quality.
  • Customer Interface: Collaborate with customers to understand their requirements and provide excellent customer service.
  • Facility Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized manufacturing/production area, including inventory management.
Preferred Skills:
  • Sign Materials Expertise: Experience with different sign materials and signage applications.
  • Large Format Printing: Familiarity with large format printing processes.
  • Sign Manufacturing: Capability in manufacturing and installing various types of signage.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: 1-5 years of experience as a professional sign maker, with design and production experience.
  • Background: Background in vinyl creation and application.
  • Skills: Large format digital printing, design creativity, expertise in using Adobe Design tool suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.), experience with RIP software, and ability to lift 50+ lbs and climb ladders.
  • Certifications: Certified installation professional (3M, Avery, etc.) is an asset.

Salary: $18.00-$27.00 per hour plus benefits, commensurate with experience.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, weekends as needed.

Supplemental Pay: Commission pay and overtime pay may be included.

Relocation: Ability to reliably commute to our facility in Edmonton, AB, T6C 1N6.
