We are seeking a highly skilled Underwriting Consultant to join our team at BMO. As an Underwriting Consultant, you will be responsible for assessing and managing risk for our clients, ensuring that our insurance products meet their needs and provide the necessary protection.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and evaluate risk for new and existing clients, using advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, brokers, and other stakeholders to ensure that our insurance products meet their needs and provide the necessary protection.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including underwriting, claims, and sales, to ensure that our insurance products are aligned with our business goals and objectives.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and market developments to ensure that our insurance products remain competitive and compliant.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to minimize potential losses and maximize returns.
- 5-10 years of experience in an underwriting environment, with a strong background in risk assessment and management.
- ALU II certification, with a working knowledge of Underwriting Rules Engine and ability to analyze outputs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, brokers, and other stakeholders.
- Bilingual French and English is an asset.
