Job Summary

The Route Management Trainee (RMT) training program is designed to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to become frontline Route Managers. As a key member of our team, you will spend the majority of your time in the field, interacting with frontline employees and developing your expertise in increasing financial profitability, maximizing operational efficiency, and improving customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with frontline employees, providing timely and consistent touchpoints to ensure their success.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices and industry developments, regularly reviewing and implementing new strategies to enhance daily performance.
  • Collaborate with Drivers and Technicians to develop job-related skills and provide coaching and guidance as needed.
  • Complete the assigned RMT training curriculum and all other assigned training to ensure a comprehensive understanding of our operations.
  • Leadership and Development
  • Actively practice and seek feedback on coaching conversations to develop your leadership skills.
  • Partner with all frontline managers to gain a deep understanding of our day-to-day business operations, including Operations Improvement, Fleet Management, Sales, and District Management.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited), or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience: Two (2) years relevant work experience in addition to Education requirements.
  • Valid Driver's License and a clean driving record, with the ability to maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record throughout employment.
  • Willingness to consider relocation within an assigned geographic area at the conclusion of the training program.
  • Ability to work flexible start times and ride in a vehicle for up to 12 hours or sit at a desk for up to 12 hours per day.

Essential Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adjust messaging to audience experience, background, and expectations.
  • Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities by comparing data from different sources to draw conclusions.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks, determine resource requirements, and allocate the appropriate amount of time to complete tasks.
