About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Optical Technician to join our team at Akal Optical (Milton) Ltd. as an Equipment Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and operating medical equipment, ensuring that it is in good working condition and meets the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on medical equipment, including sterilization equipment and instrumentation.
  • Patient Care: Assist healthcare professionals in providing patient care, including following through on treatment programs and maintaining prescription records.
  • Supply Management: Manage inventory of equipment and supplies, ensuring that they are properly stocked and maintained.
  • Clerical Duties: Perform general clerical duties, including processing files and paperwork, and scheduling appointments.
  • Office Management: Manage routine office functions, including reception, telephone, and booking appointments.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Work Setting: Hospital/medical facility or clinic.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months, with a permanent position and 30 hours per week.
  • Language: English.
