Senior Industrial Building Design Manager

Kiewit is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Industrial Building Design Manager to join our growing team.
In this role, you will lead the design process for industrial building projects, ensuring seamless collaboration between various disciplines and stakeholders. Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering innovative and functional designs that meet client requirements and industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to the design team, serving as the primary point of contact with project management, engineering consultants, and other key personnel.
- Oversee the work of third-party building engineering consultants, including architects, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers.
- Monitor project progress and performance, implementing corrective actions as needed to ensure successful completion within budget and schedule constraints.
- Collaborate with the estimation department to develop accurate cost estimates for projects based on design specifications.
- Establish and maintain effective communication channels with clients, procurement teams, construction managers, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Cultivate strong relationships with collaborative project partners to foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Organize and facilitate regular project meetings to ensure clear understanding of objectives, progress updates, and potential challenges.
- Provide accurate workforce forecasts to support the Industrial Building Group's operational needs.
- Define and manage project schedules, adhering to established documentation control procedures.
- Promote a collaborative and results-oriented culture within the project team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in architecture, structural engineering, mechanical engineering, or architectural engineering.
- Minimum 10-15 years of relevant design experience with a proven track record in industrial building projects.
- Active license with the Quebec Engineers or Architects Order.
- Comprehensive understanding of multidisciplinary industrial building design principles and best practices.
- Exceptional problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
- Fluency in French and functional English.
- Proactive and self-directed individual capable of managing projects with minimal supervision.
