This position is integral to our Personalized Creative team, where we develop impactful and conversion-oriented ideas, products, and campaigns swiftly and at scale. Our focus is on hyper-personalized digital communications that transform perceptions, influence behaviors, and enhance market share for our esteemed clients, including major brands.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Copy Lead will oversee the crafting, development, and execution of copy and communications for key North American accounts, with a primary focus on a significant client. This role involves managing personnel and high-profile projects, reporting directly to the Associate Creative Director.

As a crucial link between the Creative team, Account Director, and the client, the Copy Lead ensures that quality standards are consistently upheld. Collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders, as well as the broader Copy Team, is essential to maintain uniformity across regional initiatives.

The Copy Lead will also contribute to the formulation of creative campaigns, concepts, pitch presentations, and innovative strategies that advance DEPT's objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Produce clear, effective, and original copy and content for various marketing channels.
  • Generate creative concepts across multiple platforms as needed.
  • Maintain adherence to clients' tone of voice and brand standards.
  • Conduct research on competitors and industry trends for creative insights.
  • Facilitate brainstorming sessions within the Creative Team.
  • Guide and mentor junior copywriters to enhance their skills.
  • Identify and address process inefficiencies.
  • Proactively establish guidelines and policies to elevate copy quality.
  • Serve as a brand steward, mastering brand guidelines to determine on-brand and off-brand elements.
  • Craft engaging, inspiring, and conversion-driven copy.
  • Collaborate with the Copy Director and Group Account Director to refine brand tone of voice across territories.
  • Partner with strategists to develop compelling campaign propositions and concepts.
  • Guide designers in creating top-tier communications, integrating copy and design best practices across all channels.
  • Approve final creative outputs for regional projects and across accounts.
  • Continuously assess and enhance creative work to boost conversions and explore new opportunities and trends.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in an agency or in-house brand setting.
  • Comprehensive understanding of multi-channel digital copy and brand development.
  • Outstanding writing abilities with a proven history of creating persuasive marketing and content copy.
  • Confidence in collaborating with various departments and stakeholders.
  • Experience in reviewing and refining design work.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment managing extensive marketing campaigns.
  • Recognizes the significance of consistency throughout the user journey.
  • Skilled in presenting ideas to large audiences with clarity and enthusiasm.
  • Collaborative mindset for achieving objectives.
  • Experience in mentoring and managing at various levels.
  • Strong editing and proofreading skills with a detail-oriented approach.
  • Extensive background in an agency, publication, or brand is essential.
  • Proficient in regional language.
  • Ability to define and develop tone of voice and brand narratives for clients.
  • Experience working with global brands and teams is preferred.
  • Holistic understanding of creative processes; recognizes the synergy between copy and design.
  • Confident in addressing client concerns and negotiating with stakeholders.
